Inventing on Principle
Late last night I ran into this talk from Bret Victor and saved it to watch it in it's entirety this morning.
It appears from the comments that I was among others who were also wow'ed by his presentation titled "Inventing on Principle".
It's refreshing to see someone speaking with calm confidence about a big idea. I keep thinking about what he said and will have to watch this again in the future. For anyone working in technology and creative fields, it's hugely insightful and encouraging.
Bret's website, worrydream.com, is amazing and the tools he demo's are a shining light of hope for what can be done. Not only is it possible (and he makes it look easy at that), but his tools allow creative expression in a way that wasn't possible before.
It reminds me that we should continue to be diligent in our principles and that we can get beauty from these often ugly machines.
